Fun Schools
Ages 4 - 12
In our Fun Schools literacy program, students are placed in reading groups based on current reading level. Students are enrolled on a 9-week quarterly basis.
This kindergarten student came into kindergarten in September knowing 26 uppercase letters, 24 lowercase letters, and 12 letter sounds. She received structured literacy instruction from Twa’Lea Jordan and this is her progress in April.
The Fun School Literacy class is a structured literacy class based on the science of how the human brain learns to read. Structured Literacy prepares students to decode words in an explicit and systematic manner. This approach is necessary to help students with dyslexia, but there is substantial research that shows that it is highly effective for all readers.
